Reaching One Man’s Dream With A Unique Racing Car

James Glickenhaus spent his 80s and 90s making a fortune in the movie world. If you have watched Jackie Chan in the movie The Protector, then you have some connection with James Glickenhaus to some extent.

But Glickenhaus has had another passion all along and it is in the collection of iconic cars. In his garage, you will find the likes of 1967 Ferrari Dino Competizione, a 1967 Ford Mark IV J6, and a 1988 Ferrari 208 GTB Turbo.

At one point, he decided he had done enough collecting cars made by others and therefore turned his attention to a car he would truly call his own. He turned to Italian design house Pininfarina and had them create a one-off supercar that would be produced by Ferrari.

It was named the Ferrari P4/5 and generated 660 hp. Priced at a handsome $4 million, this would have made an excellent collection and some people would have been simply been contented with it but not Glickenhaus.

His next phase of life would be in his own enterprise named Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus LLC that would be tasked with making one of the world’s greatest hypercar dubbed the SCG 003. The SCG 003 was unveiled in 2015 and went on to win the 24 Hours of the demanding Nürburgring endurance race.

One challenge was that it wasn’t road legal thus handing it one great challenge the very same year it debuted. Carrying a V8 twin-turbo engine that carried 4.4-Litres, the SCG 003 could do around 750 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque.

This was indeed a car that epitomized one man’s dream and the love of automobiles. Designed and produced to reach the core of one man’s heart, it went ahead to entice the world of motoring.
