“I did start to question things mid-season, but seeing it work in Adelaide made it all worth it,” says Chaz Mostert.

Chaz Mostert’s Supercars title win looks perfect on paper. But the story behind it was not that smooth. There were doubts, tough weekends, and moments where the plan did not feel right at all.

Mostert was unstoppable when the Supercars Finals arrived. He won three races and finished in the top two six times across seven races. That strong run helped him beat Broc Feeney and secure his first Supercars championship in Adelaide.

The road to that moment was not easy. Throughout the regular season, form of Mostert was up and down. Meanwhile, Feeney looked fast and consistent almost every weekend. The difference was approach.

Walkinshaw Andretti United chose to focus on the Finals from early on. The team experimented with car setups at different rounds. Sometimes it cost them speed and results. The idea was simple. Build a car that would be strongest when the Finals arrived.

Mostert admitted that sticking to this plan was hard. He said Adelaide the year before showed they were close, but not quite fast enough to beat Triple Eight. That became a big focus going into the new season.

As results fluctuated mid-year, doubts started to creep in. Confidence in motorsport often comes from momentum. When that momentum is missing, questions are natural.

Still, the team stayed patient. When the Finals arrived, everything clicked. The car worked. The pace was there. Mostert delivered when it mattered most.

Winning the title made every sacrifice feel worth it. For Mostert, this championship is special because of how hard it was. It is a season full of lessons, pressure, and belief. One he says will stay with him for a very long time.
