CT4 and CT5 to Be Discontinued After 2026, Yet Cadillac Confirms CT5’s Return

Cadillac is saying goodbye to two of its popular sedans, the CT4 and CT5, after the 2026 model year. But before you get too disappointed, there’s good news. The automaker has said that the CT5 will make a comeback in a new generation.
The update was first shared through a post on the Cadillac V-Series Club website, citing a letter from John Roth, vice president of Global Cadillac. Later, Cadillac confirmed the news. It stated that the production of the CT4 will wrap up by June 2026. However, the CT5 will come back at a later date.
This decision marks the end of Cadillac’s smallest sedan, the CT4. However, the company made it clear that “the legacy of the CT5 will continue with a next-generation ICE vehicle.” While Cadillac hasn’t revealed if the upcoming model will retain the CT5 name or change its body design, you can expect something new yet familiar.
As for performance, details are still under wraps. But considering Cadillac’s history of producing powerful cars like the CT5-V Blackwing, it’s likely that the next generation will still feature a high-performance engine. General Motors recently invested $888 million in its Tonawanda Propulsion plant to build a new V-8 engine. This is a hint that Cadillac might continue using it in the future CT5 models.
Both the outgoing and future models will be produced at Cadillac’s Lansing Grand River Assembly plant in Michigan. While the CT4 is reaching the end of its road, the CT5 seems ready for a strong comeback that will keep its fan base excited.
