A 1967 Mustang rebuilt with modern engineering delivers timeless muscle with today’s comfort and power.

The first glance was enough for me to know what it was. That long hood, sharp roofline, and those iconic tri-bar taillights. It knew that it could only be a 1967 Ford Mustang. However, once I got closer to the car, I was sure that this wasn’t just a preserved classic. This classic Mustang had been rebuilt keeping in mind the parameters of modern performance, safety, and comfort. I had in mind that this car could be driven every single day.

This reborn Mustang comes from ECD Automotive. It is one of the few companies popular for custom Land Rover Defenders and Jaguar E-Types. When I heard they turned their attention to American muscle, I was actually curious. After driving the 1967 Mustang Reborn, I can say the result is nothing short of thrilling.

Under the hood sits a ROUSH Performance 347 IR Small Block Ford V8, which pumps out 465 horsepower. I felt the difference right away. The car doesn’t shake or rattle like the original ones. All thanks to the Roadster Shop chassis and Fox coilover suspension, it feels tight, smooth, and, undoubtedly, confidence-inspiring. The Magnaflow exhaust delivers a deep growl that drivers don’t just hear; they feel it in their chest.

Inside, I noticed the extraordinary balance between nostalgia and modern convenience. I settled into warm leather Recaro seats, looked at the Alpine touchscreen, and then gripped a classic-style steering wheel. One little moment actually stuck with me, when I turned what looked like an old-school window crank. The glass slid down electrically. I didn’t expect it, but I fell in love with it.

On the road, I loved how approachable yet raw it felt. The steering was direct. The Wilwood brakes were sharp, and the V8 delivered highly comfortable but commanding power. I could cruise easily, but every time I pressed the throttle, it made me smile.

What impressed me most is how this car keeps the Mustang’s soul alive while fixing its flaws. It was the Mustang that I always wished for. And honestly, once I hit the road, I didn’t want to stop.
