This is A Befitting Tribute To A Highly Influential Car

The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York announced earlier in December 2018 that it will put on public display a Fiat 500 F Series, starting from February 10, 2019. This is indeed a worthy celebration of one of the most iconic designs in the world.

Luca Napolitano, Head of EMEA Fiat and Abarth brands explained that choosing the Fiat F 500 was a befitting tribute to a brand that “never went out of fashion.”

“The 500 is an icon of Italian style that never went out of fashion and that over the decades gained fans all around the world because of its key features and strong personality,” he said, “Since 1957, Fiat 500 has always brought color and smiles to everyday lives on the roads of the world, becoming an ambassador of the ‘Bel Paese’ and an icon of style and ‘made in Italy’ design.”

The museum acquired its own Fiat F series in 2017 as part of its vast archive of industrial design. The exhibition focuses on objects which were both well-designed but also affordable for the masses.

There is no denying that the Fiat did well in mobilizing Italy. Approximately four million such cars were sold across all trim levels between 1957 and 1975, denoting a considerably impactful product.
