Ram’s Powertrain Warranty Now Covers 10 Years or 100K Miles

- Ram is raising its powertrain warranty to 10 years or 100K miles for most 2026 models. This makes it the longest powertrain warranty among full-size truck competitors in the U.S.
- The enhanced warranty covers essential parts like the engine, transmission, driveshafts, transfer case, and axles. The warranty applies to all purchased and leased vehicles; however, this protection doesn’t cover fleet purchases.

At the start of June 2025, Ram made its customers happy by bringing back the popular Hemi V8 engine for its 1500 full-size pickup truck. Now, the company is expanding offerings with something it has never done before: a 10-year or 100K-mile powertrain warranty for most trucks and vans.
The current powertrain warranty offered by Ram for its 2025 gas-only vehicles is five years or 60K miles. On the other hand, the warranty goes up to five years or 10K miles for diesel vehicles. Now for the 2026 model year, Ram has extended its powertrain warranty to ten years or 10K miles. This move makes Ram the longest powertrain warranty provider among all full-size trucks and vans in the automotive industry.
The change was made partly due to a reason: truck buyers have increased the average loan duration. According to the company, 80% of new truck loans go beyond 5+ years. As a result, the original coverage closed before the full payments of the loan. This new extension fixes that issue.
Ram states that along with our half-ton and heavy-duty trucks, the updated warranty protection covers these models: the chassis-cab 3500, 4500, and 5500 models. This also applies to ProMaster vans. There are some off-road and powerful models, such as Power Wagon and Ram RHO that qualify too. However, electric vehicles like the Ram ProMaster EV have no coverage under the higher warranty limits.
