A crashed Ferrari turns into a crazy project everyone wants to see

The internet is blowing up over a Ferrari F355, and it is not because of some rare restoration. This one is going viral because someone actually put a V10 diesel engine inside it. The team behind this wild idea is Grind Hard Plumbing Co, a group known for building the kind of cars most people only joke about.

They found a burned and damaged Ferrari F355 Spider that was basically a shell. Most folks would’ve just thrown it away without even thinking twice. Instead, they saw it as a chance to try something totally different. Since the car was already ruined, they did not have to worry about keeping things original. This freedom opened the door for a V10 diesel from a Volkswagen Touareg TDI. Yes, a big 5.0 liter twin turbo diesel inside a lightweight Ferrari.

Getting the engine inside the car was not simple. The team had to cut metal, shape new parts, and strengthen the chassis. Some parts of the frame needed extra support because the diesel engine is heavier and makes a lot more torque than the original V8. After a lot of hard work, they managed to fit the motor into the engine bay. They are now building mounts, cooling pipes, and other pieces to make everything sit properly and run smoothly.

This build is not for Ferrari purists. It is not meant to be a museum piece. The plan is to turn the F355 into a rally-style machine with long travel suspension and chunky off-road tires. The diesel makes around 310 horsepower and a huge 553 lb ft of torque, so it will have enough power to climb over almost anything.

Grind Hard Plumbing Co is sharing every update on their YouTube channel. Each new video brings in thousands of viewers. People love the madness of this project, and it already feels like one of the most exciting custom builds of the year.
