2026 Toyota bZ Launches with Price Cut Over 2025 Model

Toyota renames bZ4X to bZ and brings a more affordable starting price with better features.
Toyota’s electric crossover is back for 2026, but this time with a shorter name and a budget-friendly price tag for some trims. The automaker has renamed bZ4X to Toyota bZ. The company hopes that price changes and updated features will give the electric vehicle more popularity and acceptance in the market.
The big news is at the entry level. The 2026 Toyota bZ XLE FWD comes with a starting price of $36,350. This is $2,170 cheaper than the 2025 model. That gets EV customers the standard 57.7-kWh battery and premium front-wheel drive setup.
The XLE Plus with a larger 74.7-kWh pack costs an additional $3,000. The people who love extra grip can choose the XLE AWD at $41,350, which costs another $2,000.
Well, not every trim has gotten cheaper in price. The price of the Limited trim has actually climbed. The Limited FWD now starts at $44,750, which is an extra $1,500 compared to the 2025 model. The Limited AWD is also priced at $46,750.
There are visible changes in price; however, Toyota has also made some smart updates in features. Every trim now has an NACS charging port, which will give drivers access to the massive Supercharger network of Tesla.
Under the hood, or rather, under the floor, there are now premium-quality batteries and electric motors. Drivers will experience boosted range and performance with these upgrades. The XLE Plus FWD tops the lineup with a solid 314 miles of range. On the other hand, the base XLE comes in at 236 miles.
With a simple name, lower prices, and updated features, the 2026 Toyota bZ seems to be a powerful contender in the EV market.
