Back in the 1900s, when companies wanted their branding on a truck, they’d have to paint it on themselves. Paining individual pictures on a vehicle can be tricky and time-consuming, though, so they had to keep the logos simple.

After vinyl chloride was discovered, it was realized that cheap graphics could be adhered to all sorts of vehicles. At first, this process was only used by the US Air Force to slap decals onto fighter jets.

With the invention of digital designing and new and improved vinyl printers in the last few decades, many corporations saw a cheap and easy method to get their brand image out there. Now wrapped trucks with brand logos are a common sight on the highway. Originally, this tech was only used for commercial purposes, but now anyone can use it.
