Counting Down The Top 30 Sports Rivalries Of All Time
#22. Golden State Warriors-Houston Rockets (NBA):
The Warriors knocked the Rockets out of the Western Conference finals in 2015, out of the first round in 2017 and then in the Western Conference semifinals in 2019. The Rockets continue to retool but never seem to get off the ground against the Warriors.
#21. San Francisco Giants-Los Angeles Dodgers (Baseball):
They fled New York together for California with the consent of Major League Baseball in 1957 and established the sport on the West Coast. The cities were always economic rivals. The addition of baseball only fueled the fire.
#20. Serena Williams-Venus Williams (Tennis):
Serena long ago surpassed her older sister’s sparkling record and remains the queen of tennis. But the sisters still team up for doubles and there’s nothing but love and admiration between them, even when they play against each other. They’ve been great ambassadors for their sport.
#19. Tiger Woods-Phil Mickelson (Golf):
Two of the giants of the game, yet they were very cool toward each other until a few years ago when Tiger began making his comeback from a number of back surgeries. Woods has won many more majors than Lefty, but fans like Lefty’s willingness to take risky shots.
