Honda wants to bring back the iconic S2000 in its own unique way without teaming up with anyone else.

Honda fans have been waiting for years to see the return of the legendary S2000. Now, there is finally some good news for them. Honda has confirmed plans to revive the famous roadster. The surprising thing is that the automaker wants to go solo on the comeback.

The S2000 first arrived in the late 1990s and quickly became a dream car for sports car lovers. The car was light, fast, and extremely fun to drive. It features a high-revving engine and smooth handling, which make the S2000 a favorite model among drivers. Even today, the old S2000 models sell for high prices because people still love them that much.

According to Tomoyuki Yamagami, chief engineer of the new Prelude project, Honda has a strong desire to bring the S2000 back. However, he also stated that it’s not an easy task. Manufacturing a new sports car from scratch is costly, and it is really difficult to make it budget-friendly for younger buyers. Still, Honda does not want to take shortcuts by working with another company.

Toyota, BMW, and other automobile companies have offered collaboration to reduce costs and share technology. But Honda is not interested in that idea. Yamagami said that Honda wants to keep everything original and true to its own design style. The company believes that the S2000 should reflect Honda’s passion for driving and its strong engineering values.

There is no confirmed release date yet, but fans are already excited. Whether Honda chooses a hybrid or electric setup, the goal is clear. The new S2000 will carry forward the same spirit that made the original a legend.
