Kia Launches Low-Cost December Lease on 2026 K5 as Camry Faces Comparison

December is almost over, but Kia is still running a lease deal that many car shoppers are noticing. The offer is for the 2026 Kia K5, and it comes at a time when people are trying to lock in a good deal before the year ends. Because of this, the Toyota Camry is now part of the conversation again.
The deal is available on the base 2026 Kia K5 LXS. Kia is offering it for $279 per month for 24 months, with $3,469 due at signing. There is also a longer option. That one costs $289 per month for 36 months, with $3,499 paid upfront. Both options allow 10,000 miles per year. If you go over that limit, each extra mile costs $0.20. These offers run into early January 2026, though prices can change depending on where you live.

The K5 LXS may be the entry-level trim, but it does not feel basic. You get LED headlights, 16-inch alloy wheels, and a large 12.3-inch touchscreen. Dual-zone climate control is also standard. Safety features like forward collision warning and smart cruise control come included. For daily driving, it feels well rounded.
Most K5 models use a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 191 horsepower. It is quiet and easy to drive. Fuel economy is around 30 mpg combined, which is reasonable for this class. If you want something more fun, the K5 GT is worth a look. Its turbo engine makes 290 horsepower and gives the car a much sportier feel than most midsize sedans.
When you compare the lease with the Toyota Camry, the numbers are very close. In some cases, the Camry can be slightly cheaper over similar terms. The big advantage for Toyota is fuel economy. The Camry’s standard hybrid setup delivers much better mileage and solid power at the same time.
The choice depends on what you value most. The Camry is a smart pick if saving fuel matters to you. The Kia K5 stands out with bold styling, a lower starting price, and a long 10-year powertrain warranty. For buyers shopping at the end of December, both cars offer strong value.
