One of the most beautiful Lexus cars ever made is getting ready to say goodbye

If you love stylish cars, this news is going to hit a little hard. Lexus has confirmed that production of the Lexus LC will end later this year. After nearly a decade on the road, this stunning coupe and convertible is finally being retired.

The update came through a dealer notice that appeared online, and Lexus later confirmed it. According to the brand, the LC500 will officially be discontinued after the 2026 model year. In simple words, the clock is ticking for one of Lexus’s most eye-catching cars.

When the Lexus LC first arrived in 2018, it felt different. It did not look like a typical production car. In fact, many people thought Lexus would never build something so bold. But they did. And the result was a coupe that looked straight out of a concept showroom. Low, wide, and beautifully sculpted, the LC instantly turned heads wherever it went.

Looks were only part of the story. The LC was also a joy to drive. The highlight was its naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 engine. It sounded amazing, pulled hard, and made every drive feel special. At a time when many brands were shifting to smaller turbo engines, Lexus stayed true to the classic V8 experience. There was also a hybrid LC500h for those who wanted better efficiency, but the V8 remained the fan favorite.

In 2021, Lexus added the LC convertible to the lineup, letting drivers enjoy open-air cruising without giving up luxury or performance. Roof down, engine singing, and a smooth ride made it perfect for long drives. Over the years, Lexus also released special Inspiration Series editions. These came with unique paint colors, upgraded interiors, and small design changes that made them feel extra special.

Sales numbers may not have been massive, but they were strong for a luxury grand tourer. By the end of 2025, Lexus had sold more than 15,000 units worldwide. For a car built mainly for passion and style, that is a solid achievement.

What makes this goodbye even more emotional is the engine. With the LC leaving, Lexus will no longer offer a V8-powered car. The same engine was recently removed from the IS lineup too. This means the LC is closing the chapter on Lexus’s V8 era. For enthusiasts, that is a big moment.

So what is next? Lexus is clearly moving toward an electric future. The LFA concept gives us a glimpse of what’s coming, and while it looks exciting, it will not replace the sound and feel of the LC’s roaring V8. Electric power is fast and clean, but it does not stir emotions the same way.

As production winds down, the Lexus LC will be remembered as a bold move by a brand known for playing it safe. It proved that Lexus could build a car purely for passion.
