The legendary G-Wagen gets a fresh open-top version for fans around the world.

Good news for G-Wagen lovers! Mercedes-Benz has made an official confirmation that the G-Class Cabriolet is coming back. The iconic off-roader, which is famous for its mix of military toughness and celebrity-level luxury, will soon allow drivers to enjoy all that power with the wind in their hair.

Mercedes has dropped a teaser photo with the announcement. Most of the car is hidden in shadows. However, the outline hints at a Landaulet-style soft-top roof.

Fans of the Mercedes will recognize this design from the past, particularly the unforgettable Maybach G650 Landaulet. That 2018 model was built in super-limited numbers. There were merely 99 units, and they had a jaw-dropping price tag of around $550,000. There is no surprise that it actually turned into a collector’s dream.

This time around, Mercedes is going bigger. The automaker says the new G-Class Cabriolet will be available in “almost every market worldwide, including the U.S.” It means the G-Class Cabriolet won’t just be an exclusive toy for the few. Anyone can get the chance behind the wheel of a convertible G-Wagen.

As for timing, Mercedes hasn’t confirmed an exact launch date yet. However, since the G-Class lineup already got an update for 2025, we can expect the cabriolet to roll out by the 2026 model year. If that’s the case, buyers won’t have to wait too long to see this celebrity-level luxury hit the streets again.

With its extraordinary mix of off-road strength, luxury styling, and now an open-top design, the new G-Class Cabriolet looks ready to turn every heading across the globe.
