Roush Performance adds rugged suspension and bold styling to the 2026 Nissan Frontier PRO-4X R.

Nissan has started exploring third-party alternatives to bring a stronger off-roading setup to its 2026 Frontier pickup. For this, Nissan has collaborated with Roush Performance to upgrade the standard design of the Frontier. The result of teaming up is a special version of the PRO-4X trim, called the PRO-4X R.

The primary highlight of this special version is the suspension. Roush has worked closely with Öhlins in order to develop a 2.0-inch lift kit and shocks. The suspension lift and shocks are made of aluminum construction, and they are specifically built for the Frontier.

The shocks also have external gas reservoirs and rear cooling fins. These upgrades are to prevent overheating in rough off-road conditions, and drivers will feel more confident when tackling rough trails and rocky paths.

Visually, the Roush Frontier stands out with a bold new look. It has got titanium-painted grille inserts, a skid plate, and a newly designed lower front bumper. The truck also has Roush’s signature “R” logo on the grille, tailgate, and fenders.

Moreover, the 17-inch wheels also have a titanium finish, paired with black lug nuts and custom center caps. Step inside; the Roush vibe continues with embroidered logos on the front headrest. This gives the cabin a personalized feel.

These upgrades aren’t the dealer add-ons. The Frontier’s PRO-4X parts are available only through Roush. It costs an extra $4,395 to get the kit, which increases the total price of the Roush Frontier to $47,960. It is expected that the 2026 Frontier will begin reaching dealerships later this summer, and the special Roush editions will follow shortly after that.
