What happens when a YouTuber decides to drive a race car on normal roads

Most Ferrari builds stop at wheels and exhausts. TJ Hunt did not stop there. He took his Ferrari 488 and decided to turn it into something that looks like it belongs on a race track but can still be driven on the street.

The idea was not random. Years ago, Hunt saw a Ferrari 458 with a GT3-style body kit. That build stayed in his mind. When he finally owned a 488, he knew exactly what he wanted to do. This time, he wanted real race car parts, not copies.

That decision made everything harder. GT3 parts are not easy to buy. They are usually made only for race teams. Hunt shared that many of the parts came from an actual Ferrari 488 GT3 that won the 24 Hours of Barcelona in 2022. Some pieces still show small repairs from racing, which makes the build feel even more special.

Fitting those parts on a road car was a big job. GT3 cars are wider and built differently. The body had to be heavily modified to make everything work. Even then, Hunt made smart changes for daily driving. Some vents were closed so rain and dirt would not cause problems on the road.

The engine stays true to Ferrari’s roots. It is the 3.9 liter twin turbo V8 that originally makes 660 horsepower. With upgraded turbos, the car now pushes close to the high 700 horsepower range. Power goes to the road through motorsport wheels and sticky Michelin tires.

The GT3 parts alone cost around $100,000. That number says a lot. Ferrari is known for not liking extreme changes, but Hunt believes his build stays respectful. For now, he gets to enjoy something very rare. A Ferrari that looks like a race car and can still be driven through city streets.
