Ford to Produce More GT Super Cars As Demand Outstrips Supply

Any vehicle producer is thrilled when their product receives an overwhelming market response. It boosts their confidence,and instills in them a yearning for more and he urge to get even better.

When American automaker Ford introduced the GT model, the plan was to have only 1000 cars produced. It would turn out that the ultra-sleazy supercar that houses a 3.5-litre EcoBoost V6 engine has been in high demand all along so much so that even the additional 350 cars will not fully serve the market.

Announcing this new development, Ford’s Director of Performance Hermann Salenbauch, said that the acceptability of the supercar gives them a reason to celebrate.

“The response to our Ford GT has been unprecedented, with demand outstripping supply more than six-to-one,” said Hermann about the vehicle made in Ontario, Canada by Multimatic Inc.

Ford fanatics can smile through to 2020 when the company plans to wind up production of the GT, bringing the total to 1,350. Application for orders are re-opening in November and will run for a month to give a chance for more potential owners to come on board.

One of the unique aspects of Ford’s approach is that a questionnaire is used to select buyers who will take the car on the road as opposed to treasure collects who may rarely roar it ion the road. In the first application batch, a total of 6505 orders streamed in from around the globe.

With a 647 bhp and 746 Nm emanating from a V6 engine, the Ford GT rises from 0-60 mph in just 3 secs. Its top speed is 216 mph.

The Ford GT has some history and a story behind its revival. Inspired by the Le Mans four-time consecutive winning of the 24 hour racing between 1966 and 1969, the GT is a truly sporting car able to send a racers adrenaline rushing.

Evidently, competition for and amongst super performing cars is a notch higher and only time will tell what the future really holds.
