Here Comes The Amazing Ferrari F8 Tributo
Here comes a car that pays tribute to its predecessors, literally
Unsurprisingly and going by the choice of name, the Tributo honors great models of the past, bringing rear-end styling reminiscent of the fan-favorite F40 with quad taillamps, and a clear window cover for a twin-turbocharged V8. Quite honestly,Ferrari is justifiably proud of its powerful 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 engine and wants to do as much with it as it probably can achieve.
With 710 horsepower, the F8 Tributo kicks 49 horsepower more than the outgoing 488 GTB. It is the most powerful production V8 car in Ferrari’s history and the company is more keen on “production” because it’s not more powerful than the “special” 488 Pista, or a McLaren 720S. The Tributo has a dry weight of 88 lbs.
The new F8 Tributo uses a development of the 488’s 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 producing 530 kW and 770 Nm — some 37 kW more than before. Ferrari says the machine represents a “bridge to a new design language” likely to be followed by a new F8 Spider in coming months.
Interior improvements on the 488 include a new 8.5-inch passenger touchscreen display in addition to the driver’s twin digital screens either side of an over-sized tachograph.
Ferrar is never disappointing and goes out of its way to impress just anyone who is willing to have a keen look. That the F8 Tributo is expected to be a hit when it comes around later in the year is not even arguable.
