It’s all rumors for now but we’re excited for the new Koenigsegg models

Back in January Koenigsegg posted on social media a picture of five covered cars, leaving car enthusiasts wondering what’s up Koenigsegg’s sleeve. Many speculated that Koenigsegg has plans on unveiling a special edition of a version of the Jesko model that is capable of hitting a top speed of over 300 mph.

Car enthusiasts predict that one of these five cars to be featured at the Geneva Motor Show is the Koenigsegg Mission 500 concept which is rumored to hit a top speed of 310 mph or 500 km/h, beating out the top speed of the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+.

The supercar, codenamed KG12, is rumored to adopt a more practical 4-seater option instead of the standard 2-seater and is expected to feature a wraparound windshield with a glass cover over the engine in the back. Koenigsegg plans on featuring their trademark dihedral doors with a wider design to allow easier access in the cabin.

The KG12 powertrain will feature an electric motor and 2.0-liter, three-cylinder gasoline engine with Koenigsegg’s FreeValve camless technology. With the combination of all these features, the new model is expected to produce 1,500 hp. The new KG12 estimated cost starts at $1.5 million with a limited production of 300 units and deliveries starting in 2022.

Another prediction for the possible new models is the debut of Koenigsegg’s long-rumored affordable supercar. The new relatively affordable model expected to cost around $1.14 million compared to other models including the Regera ($2 million), Jesko ($2.8 million), and Agera RS ($2.55 million). The new affordable model is rumored to boast a 1,050-hp, 2.9-liter V8 hybrid engine.
