Mitsubishi Set to Launch Off-Road Outlander SUV Next Year

Mitsubishi has finally decided to add a proper off-road twist to its popular Outlander SUV. The automaker has confirmed that there will be a tougher, adventure-ready Outlander in the lineup next year. This time, the upgrade won’t merely be about looks.
Earlier this year, Mitsubishi launched the Trail Edition. In this edition, the company added black accents, new wheels, and floor mats. However, this new version will be developed particularly keeping in mind the real dirt-road action. According to the experts, the new version is expected to come with chunkier bumpers, additional body cladding, and a design that will handle all kinds of rough terrains smoothly.
The SUV will also feature Mitsubishi’s well-known Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) system, tuned for better grip and balance when things get bumpy. There will be special off-road drive modes too. So, drivers can easily switch between settings depending on the road, or lack of one.
Under the hood, Mitsubishi will likely be sticking with the same 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. However, as it is a new version, you can expect a few tweaks to the suspension and tires. The upgrade in suspension and tires will definitely make the vehicle stronger and more capable for off-roading.
Inside, the cabin will also get its own rugged makeover. It will have materials and finishes that will fit the bold and off-road character of the SUV.
The new Outlander is part of Mitsubishi’s plan to attract more adventure-loving drivers. Moreover, the automobile company is also preparing to launch a new electric vehicle next year, based on the 2026 Nissan Leaf.
