The Newly Upgraded Car, Built To Do More

First, lets get things right: It is Peugeot three thousand and eight… not three double zero zero eight!
This all new looking small SUV has greatly tapped into into the current trend for aggressive styling, deviating noticeably from the trend of its predecessor.

Actually, the good things begin with its size. The Peugeot 3008 is smaller than most medium-sized SUVs, but it’s too big to be classed as a small SUV.

Being in between sizes has its advantages in that it’s easy to park and pilot in tight city streets, but room inside is also surprisingly good for any practical needs of such roominess. While the outgoing diesel-electric Hybrid4 model isn’t going to be directly replaced (a petrol-electric plug-in hybrid is planned for 2019), the new 3008 is being launched with a modern mix of three and four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines and with a choice of manual and torque converter automatic gearboxes.

These engines include a 129 bhp 1.2-liter and a 162 bhp 1.6-liter petrol, returning between 48.7 and 55.4 mpg. A small petrol engine sounds unconventional for an SUV, but this is well suited for town driving and even all of you with a low-to-medium annual mileage.

The 3008 is available in a range of trim levels: Active, Allure, GT Line, GT Line Premium and GT.
It also comes standard with an 8.0-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch instrument panel.

Peugeot calls it a “head up”, but it’s not the type which is projected onto the windscreen, but rather a raised screen which sits high above the steering wheel. There’s digital radio, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus a wireless charging pad and satellite navigation. This is all great and refreshing.
