If you’ve never heard of the Puritalia brand, it gave the world an epic machine named the Puritalia 427 back in 2012. The brand from Naples is a specialist in exotic sporty cars and they are now back with a machine they claim will do close to 1000 ponies. Here is a glimpse into it.

They’ve called it the Puritalia Berlinetta and rides on a V8 engine that is further enhanced with some electric power. Looking at it closely, you realize that a lot of modern technology is well in use on the Berlinetta.

The new drivetrain includes a plug-in hybrid, that works alongside the 5.0-liter V8 engine which affixed longitudinally on the front axle. Alone, this engine will generate 750 hp (559 kW). Then turn your attention to the electric motor that is mounted helping the entire drive train to produce about 965 hp and 920 pound-feet of torque. The engine was specially built by a US manufacturer for the Berlinetta.

If you are the type that prefers exclusivity, you can have your name engraved on the aluminum block. The engine mates very well to a seven-speed manual transmission. In terms of speed, it’s not doing badly at all, sprinting to 60 mph in a mere 2.7 secs.

The company says that only 150 units will be made. What’s more, they say that they want customers to bring on board personalized tastes to be fitted onto individual cars. Taking a different approach, the brand says car owners will be brand ambassadors who appreciate the entire uniqueness of the Berlinetta.
