The 2020 Mercedes Benz GLB Has Good Muscles

Yet another roomy car from Mercedes, it’s big and commanding

Mercedes is at it again! This time bringing around a bigger, boxy and commanding car to the growing list of SUVs. It is the Mercedes Benz GLB 250, a car that hinges itself between the GLA- and GLC-Class crossovers. It very closely resembles the GLC, stands tall at 65.3 inches, but a slightly shorter in both wheelbase and overall length.

The GLB 250 is a class that utilizes a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four to move. This is good enough to produce 221 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque.

Paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, this gets the car to move reasonably fast and swiftly, just as would be expected of a Mercedes. Mercedes says that both front- and all-wheel-drive models can sprint to 60 miles per hour in 6.9 seconds.

At the low ebb of the trim, the base GLB is fitted with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 7-inch instrument cluster. But upwards there is a bigger screen for folks that like things quite huge.

It is a 10.25-inch screen fitted with Mercedes’ MBUX tech. The gauge cluster is reconfigurable then you get lots of choices for to operate the center screen.

You could do it by touch, a center trackpad, two smaller thumb-pads on the steering wheel or via voice control. MBUX is agreeable quite a robust system and a good one for a company that has established itself pretty well.

Its as roomy as a big car is expected to be. This is contributed by the upright roofline, that gives occupants at least 40 inches of headroom, and the second-row seats can slide 3.5 inches forward or backward. When the second row and passenger seat folds there are an incredible 105 inches of load length.

Mercedes is not blind to how much this category has grown but it is certainly unafraid to bring on more choices. With the GLB, lovers of sizable autos have something to feel good about.
