Check Out Epic Hyundai’s Walking Car Named “Elevate”

This car will change the approach to rescue missions

There seemingly is no limit as to what auto manufacturers will bring to the market. One of the most unique ideas that perhaps anyone can take home from the ongoing CES 2019 edition is Hyundai’s walking car.

Known as the “Elevate”, executive explains that it is designed for use at natural disaster sites, with users able to drive, walk, or climb over “the most treacherous terrain.” The concept is still in the early stages of development and we still don’t know how much to wait until the commercial versions hit the street.

The concept is developed in partnership with Detroit firm Sundberg-Ferar. Its use in emergency rescue missions might be it’s the strongest selling point. The Elevate is able to climb a 5ft (1.5m) wall and jump a 5ft gap.

Hyundai vice-president John Suh puts it this way, “Elevate can drive to the scene and climb right over flood debris or crumbled concrete.”

Elevate would be the first Ultimate Mobility Vehicle with movable legs and the first to combine technology found in both electric cars and robots. Well, suffice it to say that oftentimes, manufacturers excite us with ideas that do not necessarily see the light of day.

However, if you think of the many uses in which the Elevate may save situations, then you would pray that it comes sooner than later.
