A Chevrolet Engine And Lots Of Fine-Tuning

The Arash AF10 was unveiled alongside cars that need a little introduction including Koenigsegg, Lamborghini, McLaren, and Maserati. This was at the MPH Motor Show and the car had promised to be something worth looking forward to.

Not so often do we come across a supercar that is powered by a 7.0-liter V-8 engine pulled out of a Chevrolet Corvette Z06. It was also given a six-speed manual transmission making it some piece of lovely work for an adventurous driver. This car pulled no less than 550 horsepower, 475 pound-feet of torque. When you consider that it could do all the way to 205 MPH, then you see a strange car coming from the British manufacturer.

The AF10 decided to do change tune in 2016 and do almost everything very differently. The 2016 model still borrowed the engine from a Corvette but came in as 6.2-liter supercharged V-8. This engine was raised northwards to 900 horsepower. Arash then added what it called the “Warp Drive.”

The engine is crazy in several ways and you can see why tuning cars is so much fun. If it is attached to a 32-kWh lithium-ion battery, it can send power to four motors and increase the output to an incredible 1,180 bhp Arash hands over this daunting task to a five five-speed gearbox but there is a choice of a six-speed manual or paddle shift.

The world of motoring is full of creative juices and great stories of trial and error and sometimes just outrageous experiments. But that is exactly what makes it fun to walk these avenues all the time and find out who is doing what in a special, unique or even out-rightly crazy way.
