This Is The $1.2 Million Ford Car With Great Potential

The annual Goodwood Festival of Speed held in West Sussex, England, is always a gathering of some breathtaking, iconic and exotic racing cars the world has to offer. It is quite often used as a platform to showcase futuristic developments and what automakers have in mind.

In the 2019 version, things were pretty much the same. Some enticing stuff came to the fore.

Ford brought the Ford GT Mark II, a street-legal car that wears some deeply crazy specs and numbers. Packing a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6 engine, this vehicle will generate 647 horsepower.

The Ford GT MK II is a development of Ford Performance and Multimatic, an outfit that had a major contribution to the achievements of the road-going Ford GT. The MK II is a culmination of lessons learned from the world stage, drawing lessons from the FIA World Championship and IMSA competition.

The MK II is reportedly not meant to adhere to the racing regulations and therefore gave designers an opportunity to maximize performance through both the drivetrain and aerodynamic abilities. The track-only GT Mk II is an endearingly powerful ride generating 700 horsepower, which is 50 ponies above the road car.

It is a whopping 200 more than its cousin that does stuff at the Le Mans race car. Ford hinted that only 45 examples of the GT Mk II will be produced and the price is in the range of $1.2 million.

Order books are open for the car whose final touches will be done at Multimatic’s headquarters in Markham, Canada. It is the unapologetically exciting car that needs an equally gifted driver.
