The Exotic Spania Spano GTA

More Innovative, More Tech, And Very Creative

The automotive industry is an extremely interesting world. It is perhaps one of the few places where so much experimenting takes place before.

It is also one of the few places where an overwhelming number of ideas exist theoretically, they get hyped in a massive way and fizzle out without substantial acclaim within no time. Nonetheless, it is also an industry that sometimes takes the world by surprise through amazingly innovative ideas that change the way motoring is done.

This is the story of the exotic Spania Spano GTA. To understand how extraordinary this car was and still is, it played a role in the 2014 “Need For Speed” film.

Back then it was powered by an 8.4-liter, Viper-sourced supercharged V10 with an output of a monumental 900 horsepower. Later, however, the car would be fitted with Spano’s own 8.0-liter V10 with two turbos bolted on.

The result is… once again, a gargantuan, hair-raising 925 hp and 900 pound-feet of torque, which means 0 to 62 mph comes in just 2.9 seconds. The vehicle also has a top speed of over 230 mph.

There are several other reasons why this car made headlines the way it did. This Spanish-made car is said to have its chassis and bodywork crafted from carbon fiber, titanium, Kevlar, and graphene.

Graphene is an exceptionally promising material that has potential applications in the medical, electronic, and environmental sectors as well as the automotive industry. The two-dimensional layer of pure carbon is 100 times stronger than steel, can conduct electricity 30 times faster than silicon, and is seven times lighter than air in aerogel form.

As emissions regulations continue to ramp up, materials like this could push the world of cars forward. There hasn’t been as much updated on this 7-speed geared (manual and auto) vehicle but it would be befitting to hope that the auto maker is developer is still looking to pull a few more surprises on us.
