The Revolutionary Audi Q4 E-Tron Is Slowing But Surely Evolving
Audi’s New Promising Concept
Audi plans to actualize the Audi ‘Q4 e-tron’ concept by the end of 2020. But even before then, it is possible to see this fifth series electric vehicle as a great departure from the norm and venture deep into a space of delighting features.
This version follows the ‘e-tron’ series that came around in September 2018 and the ‘e-tron GT’ which followed in November 2018. It is just slightly ahead of the soon-to-be-shown ‘E-tron Sportback’ and ‘Q2L E-tron.’
The agile, all-round, compact four-door SUV ensures all-electric mobility will cover all of the manufacturer’s main market segments. The entire E-tron project is seen more as a push from parent company Volkswagen Group to electrify its entire lineup of cars by 2030.
Without looking hard at the Q4, you will notice very close similarities to the greater E-tron lineup, perhaps the big difference being that it is slightly shrunk down. The compact SUV is 4.59 meters long (180 inches), 1.90 meters wide (75 inches), and 1.61 meters tall (63 inches).
A massive 82 kWh battery pack takes up almost the entire space in the underbody area between the axles. With this, the Audi Q4 will travel 280 miles (450 kilometers) on a single charge — or about 40 miles further than the original E-tron.
Audi is basing its range estimate on Europe’s new WLTP standard for estimating EV range, and it should have no problem getting up to a real-world range over 200 miles. The Q4 can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.3 seconds, and it will have a top speed of 180 km/h (111 mph).
When all is said and done, there is a clear statement to the effect that this car is out to make a bold statement about Audi’s developments as well as the parent company VW Group.
