Ferrari Knows How To Push Boundaries: See The SP38 to Understand Better

Earlier in 2018, Ferrari unveiled a one-off bespoke machine dubbed the SP38. We know Ferrari does have the capability and power to push imagination to the extreme and this one was a no-brainer for them.

Apparently, it was specifically built for a very loyal customer of the Ferrari brand. For its motoring ability, this car plucked the engine out of a Ferrari 488 GTB.

This means the SP38 has a mid-mounted twin-turbo 3.9-liter V8 engine and dual-clutch gearbox combination. It is, however, the exterior that makes it an astounding piece of art.

Among creative elements on the SP38 is a fixed rear wing, designed in as a tribute to the F40. Four roundel taillights form part of the rear artistry.

The slim design of the new headlamps required that the Ferrari bespoke models separate daytime running lights. This is actually a mandatory requirement for road-legal models. The bumper now takes a lot more mesh, with thin bodywork on the lower side.

Going by the performance of the 488 GTB, the SP38 may carry a 3.9-liter V-8 engine producing 660 horsepower and 560 pound-feet of torque. The 488 GTB charges from 0 to 62 mph in roughly three seconds and this might be passed on to the SP38.

The world of sports and supercars is what Ferrari does best. Even with a continued upsurge of startups shaking things up, the company still stands out with elite well-rounded ideas.
