2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid Offers 38 MPG With a Unique Hybrid System
The 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid combines electric motors with a gasoline engine, and it never needs to be plugged in.
Nissan has released updated pricing and availability details for the all-new 2027 Rogue Hybrid. The compact SUV introduces the latest generation of the company’s e-POWER hybrid system to the United States.
The Rogue Hybrid has a starting MSRP of $35,490 before the $1,575 destination charge. That brings the entry price to $37,065.
However, the least expensive version will not be the first one available. Nissan plans to launch the SR with Technology Package in limited quantities in late fall 2026. That model starts at $41,490 before destination, or $43,065 with the destination charge included.
Other Rogue Hybrid trims are expected to arrive in early 2027.
How Nissan e-POWER Works
The 2027 Rogue Hybrid does not operate like most conventional hybrids.
Its gasoline engine does not mechanically drive the wheels. Instead, it generates electricity for the battery and two electric motors. Those motors power the vehicle.
This arrangement gives the Rogue Hybrid several characteristics associated with an electric vehicle, including immediate response and smooth acceleration. It does not require external charging because the gasoline engine generates the electricity it needs.
Every 2027 Rogue Hybrid will come with dual-motor all-wheel drive. Nissan says the system uses no conventional transmission.

Don’t confuse the Rogue Hybrid with the separate Rogue Plug-in Hybrid. The e-POWER model cannot be plugged in and does not offer a driver-selectable electric range.
Preliminary fuel-economy estimates stand at 40 mpg city, 36 mpg highway and 38 mpg combined. Nissan specifically advertises the SR AWD model at 40 mpg in city driving.
These figures remain estimates and may change when final ratings are published.
Nissan also describes the system as delivering “V8-like torque.” That refers to its immediate low-speed response, not an indication that the Rogue Hybrid has a V8 engine.
2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid Prices
Nissan has listed five configurations:
- SV: $35,490
- SV with Premium Package: $37,590
- SR: $37,490
- SR with Technology Package: $41,490
- Platinum: $43,490
These prices are manufacturer’s suggested retail prices and exclude the $1,575 destination charge.
The SV, SV Premium, SR, and Platinum versions are listed as available later. The SR with Technology Package will lead the launch in late fall 2026.
Interior and Technology
The entry-level SV includes two 12.3-inch displays, heated front seats, wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto.
The SR with Technology Package adds a 14.3-inch center touchscreen with built-in Google, a memory driver’s seat, memory exterior mirrors, and an enhanced surround-view camera system.
Available equipment across the range includes:
- Dual 14.3-inch displays
- A panoramic moonroof
- Quilted TailorFit seating
- Ventilated front seats
- Qi2 magnetic wireless phone charging
- A 10-speaker Bose audio system
- Ambient interior lighting
The Rogue Hybrid seats five and provides a claimed 39 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats.
Nissan has also introduced Smooth Stop technology. The system coordinates braking with the e-POWER powertrain to reduce abrupt body movement when the vehicle comes to a stop.
When Will It Reach Dealers?
The 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid SR with Technology Package is scheduled to reach U.S. dealers in limited numbers in late fall 2026. Nissan expects the remaining trims to follow in early 2027.
The new model will enter a highly competitive part of the market occupied by vehicles such as the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, Honda CR-V Hybrid and Hyundai Tucson Hybrid.
Its main difference is the way it delivers power. The gasoline engine generates electricity, while the electric motors handle all driving. This gives buyers electric-style propulsion without requiring them to connect the vehicle to a charger.
