This Is One Very Hot And Ultimately Special Supercar

For starters, only 19 Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagatos will ever hit the tarmac. But it is such special attention given to an incredibly great car that draws our attention to what the company thinks and is saying about it.

Wherever you look, you notice that perhaps more than ever before, super carmakers are hard at work releasing marvelous cars one after the other. The competition is even stiffer with newcomers bringing forth competitive technology.

One of the commendable undertakings that Aston Martin has busied itself with recently is making vintage cars with a plausible modern touch. The DB4 GT Zagato falls squarely into this category and the very first of the Zagatos has proved to be an iconic machine.

The British company showcased the vehicle painted in Rosso Maja red over Obsidian black and it is no less a stunner. The straight-six engine takes in 4.7-liters and generates a massive 390 horsepower.

Power is channeled to the rear wheels with the help of a four-speed manual transmission. The incorporation of the limited-slip differential in this one is a much welcome improvement that takes over from the 314-hp that drove on a 3.7-liter powerplant.

The cost of a Zagato is tipped at $7.9 million. Never mind it isn’t road legal and goes way beyond the highly acclaimed Valkyrie priced at $3.25-million.

The icing on the cake, however, is the announcement that each DB4 Zagato buyer will also be handed keys to a special-edition brand-new DBS GT Zagato. Sounds like a good deal, doesn’t it?
