The Ford EcoSport: A Sporty Lifestyle And A Crossover Experience

The 2018 Ford EcoSport is determined to do two things right from the beginning: be an enviable subcompacts car and still be able to offer the sporty-lifestyle attributes of crossovers. This is, by any standards a small car and well befitting anyone on a budget and well, it is good for anyone who wouldn’t mind the rather dwindled specs including 11.4 secs from 0-60 mph.

Power is cooked by a 123-hp turbocharged three-cylinder engine which is standard but you can have the optional 166-hp four-cylinder. We told you its slow and trust us it is quite a slow car this one, but it has quite some chunky guts on the muscles.

It can tow up to 2,000 pounds when equipped with the four-cylinder engine. Even the three-cylinder version can handle as much as 1,400 pounds. Not so bad, is it?

Ford has segmented the EcoSport into three levels of infotainment, with the top two versions wearing Ford’s user-friendly Sync 3 system with touchscreens that includes features such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Base models have a basic 4.0 display without smartphone integration.

The higher trim levels all have touchscreens such as a 4G LTE mobile hotspot and a 110-volt outlet in the back-seat area. If we put it that this more of a functional car rather than a fashionable one we would be right on the spot.
