Shaping The Sedan Market Of The Future

There is something cooking at Kia Motors, and from what we’ve seen so far when it finally unveils, there is no doubt it will be a super piece to admire. It is the Kia Optima, getting ready to hit the streets in 2021.

Kia has decided that instead of throwing up hands in despair of the dwindling sedan fortunes, it will tune the Optima to something that will sell off the shelves. Conspicuously rendering include Kia’s traditional grille shape, dubbed “Tiger Nose.”

The slim headlights and the signature LED are all too prominent not to take note of. This vehicle will also incorporate a digital gauge cluster, a widescreen center display, and a good dosage of carbon-fiber to keep weight in check.

It is expected that the Optima will share a platform with the lovely Sonata, which comes with a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine or a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder. Rumor mills also hint to a more powerful turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine.

If it comes to pass the punchier engine will no doubt be better suited for the sportier trim level? Speculation plays part in shaping the auto industry, but it looks more likely that Kia Optima might bear much of what is being thrown around.

Kia doesn’t seem ready to give up the sedan market so easily. At least not for the time being. By good luck, the Optima, the Sonata and the Stinger are doing the company a great service.
