This Is A Car Created To Test The Waters Yet It’s So Gifted

British startup Dendrobium Automotive has been toying with the densely electric hypercar for quite some time now. It was first brought to the public eye at the Geneva International Motor Show back in 2017. So ambitious was the project that the company found it befitting to bring enroll the services of renowned McLaren F1 designer Peter Stevens if only to give his input in the elements such as aerodynamics.

The teardrop shape is one significant aspect of this car that has been part of its designing right from its initial sketches. You will also take note of the floor crafted for aerodynamic responses as well as the rear double diffuser and front splitter.

Moreover, if this vehicle finally hits the tarmac with the kind of numbers being thrown around, then we have an aptly crazy car here from Singapore. We are talking of 1,800 horsepower and pulling 1,475 pound-feet of torque.

Remember this comes to form an electric motor affixed at each axle. Additionally, the vehicle named the D-1 will manage to sprint from 60 mph in just 2.7 seconds and still rise all the way to 200 mph. This is sound so good, especially coming from a startup that is able to leverage emerging technologies.

The company never mentioned the charging specifics or battery size but there is some close hint for the use of a lithium-ion unit. The startup has, nonetheless, mentioned that it is focusing on solid-state batteries going into the future.

One of the impressive things we know about the small company known as Dendrobium is that its mission and vision has been very clear from the beginning. It aims at developing and manufacturing high-performance technology for the electric car sector. But there is an additional element in this strategy for they now have advanced plans to build an electric hypercar as a way of further demonstrating its ability in developing electric technology.
