This Japanese Car Is Gorgeous And Promises Big Things

Japan is a land of notably many firsts..and they are quite fast as well. When it comes to cars, they’ve never shied away from showing inexplicable energy, zeal, and push. Sometimes, they press things a little too hard and come up with products that you amazingly watch with your jaw wide open.

And so it happens that when the Aspark Owl was first revealed at the Frankfurt Auto Show in 2017, a lot of skeptics expressed concern, especially with the claim that the super can sprint from 0-60 in just under two seconds. Then in 2018, the vehicle reappeared at the Paris Auto Show promising even more responsibilities.

This time, executives from the Osaka-based startup said that the vehicle could deliver 1,150 hp, a huge jump from the previous 430 hp claim. The manufacturer also said the all-electric supercar would attract a non-refundable deposit of $1.15 million. The final price as reported by the company is set at $4.4 million.

This is a huge bet considering the startup plans to have only 50 of these cars produced and deliveries aren’t expected to begin before 2020.

The vehicle also promises to make about 186 miles(300 km) on a full charge. The top speed is 174 mph and talks of a dry weight of 3,300 pounds. The engine will deliver 429 bhp and 563 lbs of torque.

Sounds like a promissory note? Quite honestly it does. Let’s just say this is work in progress and we hope and wish for the best. Nevertheless, given what others like Tesla have achieved so far in spite of unrelenting skepticism, we can remain upbeat about this.
