The Great Audi R8 Has Only A Few Years To Live

The Audi R8 Will Silently Go Out It’s Second Generation

Audi has kept information regarding super brand the Audi R8 under lock and key, leading to a lot of speculation as to what might happen to the supercar. However, sometimes in October 2018, information indicating that only minor half-cycle updates would be effected on the supercar hit the web.

Although spectators anticipated a huge change in the vehicle’s engine, it still maintains the naturally endowed V10, yet managed to shoot power upwards to 562 bhp in the base model and 612 bhp in the performance. This is significant in its life-cycle but there is more to that.

The Audi R8 Special Edition (called the R8 V10 Plus Competition Package) has its production squeezed to only 10 units reportedly all of which will end up in the U.S market.
At a cost of $237,350, this limited edition should be with the dealers this November

To help the machine lose weight, it has been fitted with a carbon fiber aerodynamic kit.
Among parts that have received the carbon fiber uplift include the front spoiler, flics, side sills, a fixed rear wing, and a rear diffuser.

The R8 is rumored to be running out shortly after 2020. This essentially means that we might be seeing the last few upgrades of it. Nonetheless, if it is about leaving behind a legacy, it will have done its job pretty well.
