Aspark Owl Electric Hypercar Aims At 2,000 HP And Beyond
Good things are worth waiting for. It took long but it’s finally here.
After quite some long time of feeding us on teasers, the Japanese electric hypercar named the Aspark Owl has finally come home to amaze enthusiasts. What’s more, it comes with a claim that it is the fastest in the world, hitting the 60 miles per hour (96 kilometers per hour) in no more than 1.7 seconds.
Perhaps this has something to do with the four electric motors that produce 1,985 horsepower (1,480 kilowatts) and 1,475 pound-feet (2,000 Newton-meters) of torque. It also claims to have the ability to reach 280 miles of driving range, with the top speed capped at 249 mph.
According to its creator, just eighty minutes are enough to fully charge the lithium-ion battery, with a promise to make it even better and efficient in the coming days. Its dry weight tips the scale at 4189 pounds; the carbon monocoque weighs in at 265 pounds. The rest of the body panels are carved from lightweight carbon fiber.
It takes tech-savviness quite seriously, coming with mirrors that have cameras incorporated. The Owl gets a hydraulic suspension that is height adjustable. You can move it from 80 to 100 mm.
There is an aura of confidence expressed by the makers of this car as found in the words of company CEO Masonari Yoshida. He said, “The world would be a more exciting place if there were more people thinking about exciting things. That’s why we will never give up our mission and we will keep producing many exciting projects like Owl.”
There could be no better way to explain why this car is as intuitive in design and looks as it comes.
