Going To The American Market With A Pricey Super Car

Qiantu Motor, the Chinese company that brought the EV Qiantu K50 in 2015 has announced plans to assemble vehicles in North America in cooperation with Mullen Technologies Inc., a Southern California-based EV maker and car dealer.
The Qiantu K50 is a 402-bhp full electric car with aluminum frame and carbon fiber body.

It obtains its power from two electric motors, one over the front axle and one over the rear axle, with each motor delivering 190 hp and 290 Nm. Using the boost-function this power can go up to 218 hp and 340 Nm.

It has as a range of 380 kilometers on one charge, according to Qiantu Motor. Mullen Technologies Inc. says that K50 will be made available to North American consumers in 2020 “at an unexpectedly affordable cost.”

The K50 is Qiantu’s first product and went on sale in China in August with a starting price of 754,300 yen ($109,320) before government subsidies in China. Chinese automakers are keep on leverage business opportunities that can push their brands with utmost force to the next level.

On the radar of Chinese manufacturers is Tesla whose vehicles continue to gain popularity despite dwindling market outlook. The Chinese are determined to face the US market head on with products that are affordable and competitive.
