Hennessey Plans To Tune A 1200-HP Chevrolet C8 Corvette
A powerful sporty car made even more intuitive
The Chevrolet C8 Corvette is a car that needs not as much pampering to do what it is meant to. Its factory version is formidable enough to take on just about any challenger. It is a nice sporty car that knows the rules of the game are always eager to play along.
It, therefore, raises lots of interest when the respected tuner and automaker Hennessey says that it will tune the Corvette to a perform even far much better. What we know so far is that the Texas-based company aims to give the Corvette no less than 1,200-horsepower. It is dubbed the HPE1200.
The auto-tuner says that this will first be achieved by giving the Corvette twin-turbo LT2 V8 engines with massively upgraded specifications such as the as forged aluminum pistons, forged steel connecting rods among other spices. The company further explains that this sportier car will “incorporate an upgraded and fortified factory dual-clutch automatic transmission and a full Brembo brake system.”
It is apparent that we are looking into one of the most intuitive cars in the making and just how much everything else will be turned around is a matter for the eyes to behold. Hennessy seems and sounds ready to cover lots of ground with this car.
Considering that GM had insinuated this would be one impassible car to crack, it remains to be seen how exactly Hennessy aims to approach it. According to GM, the mid-engine Corvette should be pretty difficult to work with for the aftermarket, because of the ECU encryption.
