Here Is The Quite Telling Car The Ultima GTR

A Car That Made An Impact But Left Too Soon

The first time the Ultima GTR prototype made an appearance was in 1983. It had been designed by Lee Noble, whom you may remember for his Noble M600 model.

In the initial stages of the Ultima, several parts were plucked from Renault cars, even the V6 engine. Over time Ted Marlow purchased the Noble brand and went ahead to install a larger engine on the Ultima.

It was made available in two engines, one of which was an LS1 V8 from the Corvette. It is this model that gives the Ultima GTR it’s legacy and performance abilities.

The Chevrolet engine was mated to a Porsche transmission and differential that had been sourced from late-model 911s. It would give the Ultima about 2,314 pounds of weight and helped it to sprint in 3.3secs to 60mph.

The combination of the LS1 and transmission added about $42,000 to the kit car’s cost. That model weighing about 2,314 lbs snapped a speed in 3.3 seconds on its way to 60 mph.

A lot of elements have changed over time and the GTR would seem just like a car that remains in history. It is the GTR Coupe, however, that holds the brand’s torch in modern times.

The bottom line though is that this was not just a car that came and saw but one that made an impact in the supercar world.
