Lincoln Navigator: Is This America’s Best Luxury SUV?

Massive Muscle And Power To Boot

When the fight between the Cadillac vs. Lincoln was flown blown, particularly during the last century a lot of things were at stake. Chief among them was pride that rolled down from the decision-making rooms in the organization’s office to the consumers who made it a national protocol.

A 2018 article thus describe this rivalry in these memorable words, “For much of the 20th century, the Cadillac-versus-Lincoln thing mattered. It had significance well beyond quarterly earnings and the automotive industry. For many, it was about national pride.”

Is the battle still significant? Not as much, considering that a lot of automakers have now brought rival products that compete ably with these brands. This notwithstanding, the Lincoln Navigator seems to be rekindling this battle.

It promises to be one of the best SUVs that the American market, in particular, will behold. In the Cadillac stable, the equivalent would obviously be the Escalade. But until one is available for comparison, the battle is still one-sided.

The Lincoln Navigator is one mammoth of a vehicle. Although it is said to have shed 200-pound in weight, it still tilts the scales at 6,000 pounds. The standard-wheelbase model 17 feet long. If you go for the long-wheelbase version it will come with 18.5 feet of the same.

Don’t wink until we get to the engine which is a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 producing an incredible 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. With a 10-speed automatic transmission, the Navigator has few competitors in its league.

On the dashboard, the Navigator scores just the way a luxury SUV should in this day and age. There is a 12.0-inch screen display and an infotainment 10.0-inch touchscreen atop the dashboard.

Your audio can also be controlled from the rear and you will also enjoy onboard wi-fi and a 360-degree camera setup.
When we say the battle lines are drawn, the Navigator has its arsenal ready to work out in a way hitherto unknown.
