Autonomous Travel Suite: Your Hotel Room Will Go Wherever You Want

Autonomous Travelling Hotel Room Is The Future Of Travel

In the entire automotive industry, the fastest gear has been engaged. Rapid developments grace our space every so often, sometimes so fast that it is note easy to keep up or even speculate the direction the industry takes next.

It is, however, clear that autonomous vehicles that are electrically powered will be on our planet in the next decade or so. This whole idea is taken to yet another level when you think of an autonomous car which is on the other hand a hotel, capable of accommodating your guests for 6 to 10 hours.

A concept developed by Toronto-based architect Steve Lee aims at achieving this in the near future. Lee of Aprilli Design Studio says that this autonomous car is able to accommodate a wide range of travelers including: solo travelers, and couples.

Leveraging technology allows the ATS to be controlled by an app.
One of the most interesting aspects of this vehicle is that by simply keying in details such as start and end points, you can lay back and…almost take a nap.

Lee says that once travelers “select the start and end points of their journeys and can add stopping off points such as gyms and restaurants. The system will work out the best route.”

The designer envisions a situation where the vehicle is operated by by a chain of autonomous hotels. With this collaboration the “parent hotel” are able to provide vehicle maintenance, water provision and waste removal among other support services for those en route.

This concept signifies a paradigm shift in the way developers aim at utilizing emerging technology. Nonetheless, it is evident that it might not take too long before these concept are made realistic.
