The British Marque Aston Martin hasn’t made such a lovely 4-door, 4-seater car in quite a long time. The production version was brought to the public eye way back in 2009, although the automaker had introduced the concept car in 2006 during the North American International Auto Show.

How has it been in the years that followed?

Under the current luxurious auto market, this is a vehicle under heavy competition. However, with its generous V12 engine that produces 580-hp consuming 6.0-liter, it stands out as one of the most powerful rides in its category.

This gracious engine is mated to eight-speed automatic, that rides the rear wheels. It a speedy one too, as if to underscore how much an Aston Martin it is. It sprints from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.2 seconds.

What excites us most is the news an upcoming Rapide that is all-electric. It is named the Rapide E and apparently packs as much as 600 horses in power. It will drive on two electric motors and could do all the way to 200 miles on electric power alone.

This car is built upon the Rapide AMR and the automaker sounds equally elated by the coming of this ride and promises to do everything possible. It describes the process of this Aston Martin noting that, “meticulous attention has been paid to the development and tuning of both the electric powertrain and the chassis across all three driving modes resulting in an agile, controlled and beautiful balance drive.”

In spite of increased competition, Aston Martin continues to produce ground-breaking vehicles with a futuristic outlook. The star looks brighter going ahead.
