Pininfarina Vehicles: New Design Made In Italy

From Italy With Finesse, Here Comes The PFO

If you look closely enough, there will always be something worth writing home about in the auto industry. In most cases, there is amazing news and a few surprises too.

Automobili Pininfarina has announced that 75% of its high-stake electric hypercar is complete. Going by the codename PFO, the two-seater mover will have as much as 1,900 bhp, sprinting from o-100 kph in less than two secs. From 0-300 kph, the vehicle should take less than 12 seconds.

The project is nothing short of extreme ambition. According to CEO Michael Perschke (a man who previously worked for BMW and Audi) the vehicle will be able to rejuvenate the battery to 80% in just 40 minutes or less.

The company prices the supercar at $2.5 million with deliveries expected to begin in autumn 2020. For business viability, Automobili Pininfarina plans to utilize a lot of existing technology as well as fostering technology partnerships. There is also a great deal that the company aims to sink into the interior.

Only 150 of the PF0 will be produced, with reports indicating that most of them have been booked. The North American market take 50, while the European markets will have 50 and the last batch of 50 will be shared between the Middle and Far East markets.

Further reports say that the car will be officially unveiled at the Geneva motor show next March. The will be only the second series-produced car to carry the Pininfarina badge. The Fiat 124 Spider wore this badge in its final two years of production between 1983 and 1985.
