Rivian R1S Is A Magnificent Off Road Electrified Large SUV

This Is The New Eco-Friendly Family Vehicle

When the Rivian electric pickup named the RT1 was launched in 2018, there was almost a palpable aura of excitement, for this was the first electric pickup with an enviable long mile range. It would be soon after be followed by the equally plausible RS1 with which they share a platform and several specifications too.

This notwithstanding, the RS1 has a life of its own, working hard to carve a niche of itself as a seven-seater large SUV. This magnificently huge car rides on a choice of 105 kWh or 135 kWh battery.

With the 105 kWh battery, will cruise to around 240 miles, while the 135 kWh battery will take you for 310 miles. Then there is the larger 180 kWh battery’s that will go further to 410 miles.

The company found it wise to offer the 135 kWh and 180 kWh batteries first and bring around the smaller 105 kWh battery sometimes later. The inside is a business-minded environment that manages to remain sleek with some minimalist designs.

Two relatively large output screens are withing and some wood inlay adds that exquisite feeling. The main touchscreen measures 15.6-inch and is the one to display your maps, navigation as well as all other outdoor-focused settings.

Then there is the smaller 12.3-inch driver information screen that incorporates some features of the larger screen and adds the virtual gauge cluster to its catalog. What you have at the end of the day is a high seat SUV that is comfortable all round with an exterior design that stands out from the competition.

A lot of technology has gone into building this car into a daily road monster able to handle routine challenges. Rivian says the batteries are well curved out to withstand off-road hurdles in a special way.
