The Handcrafted Rolls-Royce Wraith Luminary: See Stars

The 2018 Rolls-Royce Wraith Luminary Collection will only have 55 examples of these bespoke coupes produced. Luxury can probably not get any better.

If you’ve followed Rolls-Royce productions in the recent past, you’ll probably know that its cars have a starlight headliner which is precisely the shooting star illumination that is unique to latest models. Why is this an important element of this vehicle?

We are talking about 1340 fiber optic lights that illuminate eight shooting stars at random. This only at the touch of a button.

In addition to the headliner, there are 176 LEDs on the door panels, as if to make the four passengers experience city lights in a car. On the Rolls-Royce Wraith Luminary, the stars form one part of the cabin’s lighting, which also includes new illuminated wood, the first time such a feature has been included in a car.

If you care to know and I bet you do, the Tudor Oak wood is sourced from the Czech Republic and has been selected for its depth of color and the dense grain structure. All this to give the ultimate luxury on a ride that money can buy.

All this juice is driven by a twin-turbo 6.6-liter V-12 engine that packs 624 hp and 642 lb-ft of torque. An 8-speed automatic transmission is the creator’s choice to push it forward.

We are talking of a ride priced at $402,000. CEO of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is awake to this fact and he says, “Indeed, this collection is for the world’s luminaries. It speaks directly of our contemporary Rolls-Royce brand—progressive and trailblazing, the pinnacle in hand-crafted luxury.”

Did he handcrafted luxury? That is exactly what this car depicts.
