Dowsetts Classic Cars may not be a manufacturer’s name that rings a bell in the minds of ordinary folks. It is, nonetheless, one that might soon be the talk of town especially among car enthusiasts.

Designed and styled by Anstead and the Dowsetts team, the Comet borrows a General Motors LS3 V8 crate engine that has been mated to a lightweight 3,000-pound frame. The Comet can hit 60 mph from in only 3.9 seconds and climb to well over 150 mph.

We are told that Comet specifications shall vary. However, the particular car that was brought around use a Tremec five speed transmission, a limited slip differential and a De Dion-style rear end. Interior choices too can be customized.

The company choose a front-mid engine layout for the Comet.It also uses fiberglass body shells over spaceframe chassis. There is evident Italian styling which is touted to be a great attraction.

Apparently, there is some influence from Lancia’s Flaminia Sport Series 1 and the Ferrari 250 GT SWB. There’s also a bit of Aston Martin Zagato in the aesthetic DNA and so much of this has been made clear by the company.

One thing that stands clear, nonetheless, is that this car plans to come in a big way and claim some space.
