Three Row Subaru Ascent: Entering The Market Big And Bold

The Luxury Family Car – The Subaru Ascent

If a car ever represented its name, it is the Subaru Ascent. Indeed, it has ascended, or better still raised the Subaru brand to a higher level that is more competitive.

In recent years, car makers have realized that consumers wouldn’t mind more space and more car than they actually need. Perhaps this explains why bigger SUVs are gaining popularity each passing day. This must be the reasoning that has driven the likes of Subaru to jump into making cars that can be driven by the unconventional consumer.

Here comes, the Subaru Ascent, a three-row eight-passenger vehicle that is built with the future in mind. The Ascent’s boasts of a new turbocharged 2.4-liter flat-four engine that produces 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque.

Even a mere fan will tell you that Subarus have a characteristic sound that distinguishes them from other roaring machines. This new engine has ingeniously refused to shed off the unmistakable boxer rumble and it will still perform its duties diligently.

The base model has a 6.5-inch touchscreen display but you can get as much as an 8-inch touchscreen. Attached too are voice controls which come standard on the Premium. The complex EyeSight driver assist is also attached in some trims. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also tech givings to check out on the Ascent.

Going by this beginning, the Ascent is reasonably suited for competitive bidding of the three-row SUV slot. With a pick time of 6.9 secs from zero-to-60-mph, it is still slower than other V-6 players but we have a feeling it will be magical in the market.
