The Car That Cam, Performed, And Exceeded As A Super Car

Top performing vehicles come and go, but the best among them leave a legacy and a name that stays around for some time. Over the years, Lamborghini has had several such vehicles. Among them is the Lamborghini Diablo, a vehicle named (like many of it’s counterparts) from the bullfighting culture.

The Diablo was agreeably a very popular Lamborghini, it was touted as a spiritual successor to the Countach. Although development of the Diablo began way back in 1985 the Diablo first debuted in 1990 (though there was no convertible option available initially).

A few years down the line Lamborghini unveiled a Diablo roadster concept in 1992, but it never saw production. Things however changes in 1995 when the Diablo VT got an upgrade and with it came the Roadster variant.

Since then, all mainstream Lamborghini supercar models have included convertible options.
The Diablo went on to gain popularity and become one of the best performing Lamborghini’s of its time.

Production of the Diablo lasted until 2001 and included nearly 2,900 units built in various specifications. Not only did it carry a name that lived up to its diabolical nature, but it also holds the distinction of being the only Lamborghini that was designed under the watch of Chrysler.

It is no wonder then that the Diablo is still regarded highly by car enthusiasts and Lamborghini fans as well.
