Let nobody say looking good is easy.

Some people wake up in the morning, do a little hair flip or whatever, and immediately start sparkling and singing with birds like a Disney princess. Most of us are not Disney princesses. Nothing wrong with that, but it does mean you gotta put some extra effort into being a sparkly beacon of style. Here’s a few tips to get your daily makeup to really shine.

First, face mist. Get your skin nice and moist so it’s receptive to what’s coming next. Dab your face with a makeup sponge so there’s no excess droplets floating around.

Second, match your foundation and highlighter with the contours of your face. This’ll help highlight your cheekbones. Remember to dab your nose and above your upper lip with the highlighter.

Third, use mascara and eyeliner sparingly. A little definition is all you need. Give your lashes a little curl if you think you need it, but don’t go overboard.

Fourth, use some lip liner to outline your lips (the highlighter will help this stand out), then fill in the rest with liquid lipstick.

Finally, give your hair a quick brushing, however you think it looks best, you do you, then hit with some dry shampoo spray and give it a little shake.

That’ll do it! Altogether, this procedure should take you about two to three minutes, so you can quickly repeat it throughout the day if things are getting a little smudge-y.
